Field of application
Today, there are more than 100 methods of protecting metal products and structures from corrosion. However, the most popular and reliable method is hot-dip galvanizing. The advantage of this coating is obvious - its protective properties consist in the mechanical isolation of metal from corrosion aggressive atmosphere.
Hot-dip galvanizing is an application of a layer of molten zinc to the surface of metal products to protect against external damage as well as corrosion.
Zinc coating has a wide range of applications:
- power engineering;
- oil producing and oil refining industry;
- gas industry;
- automotive industry;
It is possible to galvanize almost any steel structure:
• power transmission towers;
• Metal stairs;
• street lighting poles;
• steel structures of the buildings;
• various equipment;
The reasons for the widespread usage are the resistance of the coating to external influences, low cost and safety. High protective (anticorrosive) properties of zinc coating are most effective in corrosive environments (industrial and marine areas, as well as in locations with high humidity of the environment).
