Method of hot-dip galvanizing
The hot-dip galvanizing process consists of three main stages:
- Surface preparation;
Surface preparation is an important step in the application of any coating. In most cases, when the zinc coating fails before the end of the expected service life, this is due to improper or unqualified surface preparation. The galvanizing process has its own built-in quality control equipment, since zinc does not react with the unpurified steel surface. Any defects, or inconsistencies of the declared quality of the material, are manifested when the steel is extracted from the zinc bath, moreover, the unrefined areas will remain without a high-quality coating.
Preparation of the surface for galvanizing consists of four steps:
1. Mechanical cleaning;
2. Degreasing;
3. Digestion;
4. Purification.
- Galvanizing;
- Quality control.
